Improving existing glass performance

Existing buildings which are older tend to have lower performance glass due to the limitations of the technology in the past.

Over the years, newer technologies are being developed to give high performance glass windows in buildings. However replacing existing old glass windows to new high performance glass windows might be an expensive project and requires a long process.

To overcome this problem in budget and in time, several other solutions have been brought up. An example could be installing another layer of glass to existing single pane glass. Recently, Pacco had the privilege to work together with AGC – Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. They are a Japanese Glass Manufacturer Company that focuses on delivering high quality glass.

AGC’s new product – Attoch converts an existing windowpane into higher performance glass simply by applying one sheet of Low-E glass to the inside of the glass unit.

If installing another piece of glass is not suitable for your building, you may also consider installing a thin window film onto your existing glass window. Adding a piece of window film for your existing glass greatly improves the heat insulation & safety. It’s high energy savings effect is the reason why window film is such an effective product to retrofit your existing glass windows. Our window film Deluxe Series X70 is even a Singapore Green Building Product – 2 Ticks.
